Album Notes
Mixing one part tongue & cheek and one part Caribbean Soul, JD’s second release sparkles with some very memorable tunes. What is apparent in this release is his ability to fashion fun with poignant story telling. Somewhat reminiscent of Jimmy Buffett songs, JD takes us on an adventure…whether it’s for a “Long Weekend,” a visit with the “The Banana Republican” or a madcap time in “Juarez Hell.”

We are reminded of JD’s range as he tackles Hollywood head-on in “One Sick Puppy,” and then throttles way back to deliver a sweet traditional ballad in “The Water Is Wide.”
The Banana Republican also showcases his multi-instrumental talents ranging from reggae, funk and rock guitar to country and pop keyboard work, tight drums and percussion as well as soulful solid vocals.

No sophomore jinx here…JD provides some of his best work to date!

Married with four children, J.D. resides outside of Washington, DC and focuses on business interests in and outside of music. Pederson laughs, "my troubadour days may be behind me, but I can still cook up a pretty mean gumbo."

This is fun stuff! Well written lyrics that really do paint a great picture...Great mixture of trop rock and trop country. Some subtle humor that kept me smilin'. I am a new fan...and telling my friends!

Wonderful island getaway
Nice blend of humor, reflection, storytelling, and of course island sounds. A great addition to my island music collection, and one of the stronger CD's in that collection of a couple hundred.
