Album Notes
Jeanette is rather eclectic in her taste of music and this shows through in the way she writes. Sugar and Spice, like her previous album, is a collection 10 original songs written by her. The tracks were recorded using mainly acoustic instrumentation, which gives it it's earthy appeal. Jeanette has also pushed a few boundaries and experimented with synth & rhythms such as on 'Stop the Parody' and 'I Love You'. These melodious tunes will take you through series of emotions, the songs can be quite diverse from each other in their energetic and sultry moods as well as being bold and dramatic.

Sugar and Spice was mainly recorded at Close Studio in London, with the exception of 2 tracks, 'Dangerous' and 'How I See It' which were recorded at Swimming Pool Studios in London in collaboration with the very talented musician and songwriter Jerry Moody. In fact all of the instrumentation on those tracks, apart from acoustic guitar, were performed by Jerry. The track 'I Love You' - although initially recorded at Swimming Pool Studio - was re-recorded at Close Studio, where Steve Rispin (producer and engineer) and Jeanette diligently recreated the wonderful programmed synth part that Jerry had created for the song.

Prior to the albums' release we submitted 3 tracks to a well known Recording Music Magazine, Sound on Sound - strictly for demo purposes. It was nominated as top demo which we were very pleased about.

Sugar and Spice album was released in 2005 under Jeanette Murphys' own independant label, Close Studio Records (CSR). It was mixed and produced by Steve Rispin.
