Album Notes
This is music from a theatrical production about the timeless relationship between two women, Hildegard von Bingen, a twelfth-century nun from Germany, and Jeannine Goode-Allen, a twenty-first century sacred artist in The United States. Hildegard von Bingen had an unwavering trust in her music, her vision, her "voices". She saw herself as a "feather on the breath of God," an this "breath" would never, ever fail her. Hildegard is the most prolific composer of monophonic chants known to us, not only from the twelfth century, but also from the entire Middle Ages. She put singing in the center of the monastic communities she led. For Hildegard, singing was the highest form of praise in Creation. She used her music to express joy every day of her life, and she also used it to meet the Divine in the depths of darkness.

Four composers came together to create the music for Feathers on the Breath of God. In creating this music, Hildegard von Bingen, Jeannine Good-Allen, David Sharp and Gary Grundei shared a journey that was full of miracles. you will be deeply move by the wonder, the beauty and the power of these musical creations. they are an awesome quartet.
