ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Multiple award winning singer/songwriter Jean Prescott wears her western heritage as comfortably as a well broken in pair of boots. A native of Texas, her songs reflect the way of life she holds dear and have they have entertained fans of all ages over the past 20 or more years. Jean has been recognized by the State of Texas for her contribution to the preservation of its western heritage through her stories in song. And, her velvet smooth alto voice graces an exhibit in the National Cowgirl Hall of Fame and Museum in Fort Worth, Texas. Jean's songs have been sung recorded by countless recording artists across the nation. Known as "The Songbird of the Prairie", Jean's songs are always toe-tapping good!

Well known western entertainer, Red Steagall says of Jean's new CD "Traditions", "I admire her choice of songs and her interpretation of each one. Do yourself a favor and listen really close to this collection. Jean will make a believer out of you, even if you're not a believer already. She belongs to the land and it's people and upholds the heritage, 'Traditions', and values of the western lifestyle."

David Stoecklein, internationally acclaimed professional photographer says this about Jean's music: "No one tells the stories of the west better than Jean Prescott. Her songs bring the west alive and listening to them just makes you feel good. Her music is wonderful and her voice is so special and sweet to the ear. Jean is a true lady and story teller of the west. Her music is a gift to all of us who know and love the west." (Stoecklein has put his incredible photographs to several of Jean's songs. They can be seen on Jean's website as well as on U-Tube.)

Jean has over a dozen CDs to her credit and multiple awards for her singing and songwriting from the Western Music Association and the Academy of Western Artists. Her projects include CDs about women of the west, pure cowboy songs, gospel songs, patriotic songs and western swing. However, "Traditions" is shaping up to be her best by far.
