Album Notes
Canadian concert pianist Jean Tews dedicated her life to uncovering the truest interpretations of the world’s greatest piano works. Delving into the music’s hidden meaning, Tews’s performances can be considered as close as possible to the composers’ initial intentions.

A major scholarship winner at what is now the Glen Gould School at Toronto’s Royal Conservatory of Music, Jean Tews studied alongside other piano greats including Mario Bernardi and Glen Gould.

The product of her life’s work, the Masterworks Collection showcases Tews’s talent, artistry and pure, unaffected interpretations of some of the world’s greatest piano pieces.

Volume One takes the listener on a journey through the Romantic Era, featuring favorites such as Chopin’s Raindrop Prelude, Mendelssohn’s Song Without Words and Brahms’s waltzes.

Available for the first time since Tews’s death in 1993, the collection preserves the legacy of one of the world’s great pianists. A must for any classical music aficionado.
