ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Jeff Antoniuk, world renowned saxophonist, educator and composer, has assembled a fantastic group of musicians for this recording. The band is so fantastic that, after hearing "man, that's a hell of a band" from enough audiences . . . Helluvaband became the name of the group!

The collective bio of Jeff Antoniuk (sax), John Lee (guitar), Mike Pope (bass) and Frank Russo (drums) reads like a who's who of modern jazz history. Having gigged, toured and/or recorded with the likes of Marcus Miller, Michael Brecker, George Garzone, Dave Sanborn, Donny McCaslin, Chick Corea, Kenny Werner and on and on, these guys came to play.

"Flow" is what happens when the traditional jazz that these guy cut their teeth on meets funk, rock, alternative, latin, African styles and everything else. Bringing textures, grooves and concepts from these disparate styles of music, Helluvaband has created a new sound on the scene. Coltrane meets Cuba, Monk on a speed date with Led Zeppelin, and Bill Evans playing Hawaiian slide guitar. Are you getting the picture?
