ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Four Pranas was written from a strong spiritual calling to reconnect with myself. Its intent is to allow you to detach and focus on your spiritual core, whatever that may be for you.

A person’s normal resting respiratory rate is 10-12 breaths per minute. With mindful attention, one can half that to 5-6 breaths per minute, and with much dedication and focus those numbers can be halved as well. With that in mind, all four Pranas are written in a specific time signature divisible by 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 10 and 12 for all levels of focus or breathing practice. Each Prana leads towards a season and each season’s duration is represented by the number of days in that season and written into minutes and seconds. The songs also follow the arc of tension and resolution, which emulates life.

This entire recording was performed by Jeff Dodd using his custom Bassline Worp Art extended range fretless Bass, an Ebow and an effect written by Jeff on his Boss GT10B.
