Album Notes
The "Lonesome Pine Rides Again" album pretty much happened while waiting around for something else to happen. I had been performing as a solo act and trying to get better at that, and someone suggested that I record some music in that vein. I had met Tom Deis, an incredible musician who was also pursuing recording and producing other artists (he was also my son's guitar teacher when we first met). We did a demo of the song "Even if the Sun Don't Shine" at the start of 2015 that I really liked the sound of, and I just kept doing stuff with him when he was available. We did another demo of the song "Bring It Back" after
I came back from California in the summer of 2016. I had tried to cut "Bring It Back" in two separate sessions, but never did find the right feel for it until after the fact. So then we did a bunch of solo things, plus I had a couple of demos that I had done with my old partner Randy Weeks while I was visiting him in Austin, TX that sounded cool to me. Also included is a solo acoustic demo that my friend Adam Parkes recorded that I thought had a certain something. I had a lot of fun putting this album together and I hope people enjoy it.
