ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Singer, songwriter and producer Jef Leeson's 6th album, Topic of the Day, is a collection of rock and pop tracks inspired by the classic sounds of the 1960s and 70s. Produced and written mainly as a solo project, Jef enlisted the writing help of guitarist/songwriter James A. Ingram on the track Kind of Thing You Fall Into, and the great vocal talents of Colin Amey on the Righteous Brothers-inspired tune Going Again. A fan of all forms of music, he also included the quirky recitation Stuck at Jon Lovitz's (a nod to a number of traditional country music songs of the same type, and others by acts such as Pukka Orchestra, Hugh Marsh, etc.). Closing it all off is a slower cover version of The Diodes definitive punk song Tired of Waking Up Tired, which is an alternate version to a faster version released in 2010.
