Back In School

by The Jellybeans

The debut album from The Jellybeans is quite an achievement for a group of girls in the sixth grade. As the title suggests, the songs focus on their lives as kids and students. The girls have a great sound with sweet, youthful voices, but don't let those baby faces fool you. These girls know how to rock and roll.

Album Notes
It started out just for fun, turned into a school fundraising project and, although a low budget production, became an album that has earned The Jellybeans praise from everyone who has heard it. This all girl singing group from Jersey City has been performing together since they were in the third grade and this album earned them an ‘Artist Spotlight’ from The Independent Music Awards. They are the youngest artists ever so featured. The songs on here are just some of the original songs written for their school concerts over the past few years. They are lively and upbeat with themes to which every kid, and their parents, can relate. From the opening notes of ‘Back in School’ to the closing notes of ‘A Perfect Summer’s Day,’ the girls are pure rock and roll. They do take a quick time out though for the lovely ballad, ‘I Want You to Know I Love You.’ It’s a love song to their parents and really showcases the beauty of their voices.

Love it!
‘You can’t judge a book by its cover.’ You can apply that to CDs as well. This CD is simply packaged, but on it are six great songs for kids sung by a great group of girls. I am a teacher who is always looking for something new for the classroom and thought my students would really enjoy listening to these songs. They have, many times over. The songs are perfect for kids about ten years old and under, but they are so well done that I can listen to them over and over, too. ‘Let Me Sleep’ and ‘Round and Round’ have become favorites of my kids. They each have a great beat and the kids can easily sing along to the choruses. My favorite one is ‘The Way Too Much Homework Blues.’ These very talented girls can sing! Their sweet voices are so charming on these songs and my kids are very impressed to see other kids performing like this. I highly recommend this CD to anyone with young kids. It is really different!
