ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Stephen Pytak is the publisher at Mazz Press, based in Port Carbon, Pa. He is known for writing a series of novels following the adventures of a low-rent mercenary known as "The .40 Caliber Mouse." The fourth book in the series, "Katerina Blues," is due out in early 2013. He is also a filmmaker, song lyricist and music producer.

Since 2010, Stephen has made a few short films and hired musicians to produce music related to the series. In 2012, he embarked on a film project called "Dancing Shadows" and commissioned musicians to develop songs for both the film and a CD. The film stars Jenna McBreen of Schuylkill Haven, Pa.

Jenna is a budding stage and screen actress. She's a 2006 graduate of Schuylkill Haven Area High School, Schuylkill Haven, Pa. In 2010, she earned a degree in theater, music and dance from Muhlenberg College, Allentown, Pa. Her dream is to work the stages on Broadway. Stephen and Jenna had worked previously on a song Stephen wrote the lyrics for in 2011, "Sweet Echo of Memory." And Jenna has appeared in two of Stephen's films as "Marci," former FBI agent turned mercenary. "Dancing Shadows" is the third and last title in their trilogy of films about the character.

While developing music for the "Dancing Shadows" CD in June 2012, Stephen, Jenna and pianist Bruce Marianelli of Pottsville, Pa. decided to release the CD and film with a concert on Oct. 26, 2012. Stephen was put in charge of promotion. He came up with the title of the show, "Nightingale." Then, to give the night a theme, he wrote the lyrics for a short song with that title. Jenna and Bruce came up with the music. However, Stephen suggested Jenna hum the first few bars at the top of the track. It was recorded on July 26, 2012.

More than 125 people came out for the show, held Friday, Oct. 26 2012 at The Sovereign Majestic in Pottsville, Pa., and Jenna and Bruce opened the program with the track.

"Nightingale" is the first song on the CD for "Dancing Shadows" and copies of the CD are available at www.mazzpress.com
