Album Notes
Who would’ve thought a girl raised in Arkansas’ Mississippi Delta would have ever been discovered by a couple of New York City boys. But you never know what style of music you are going to get when Jennifer Weems opens her mouth to sing. She can effortlessly jump from folk to jazz to pop to rock to country. In a word, she is VERSATILE. She has a soulful quality that makes you want to pick up the phone and call that old lover.

She started her career as a solo vocalist at various festivals and community events. She later became the lead female vocalist for the rock band The Unassigned. She is currently playing with seasoned musician, Tony Burriss, in their duo, Thirty-wonderful.

She was discovered by Tom James and David Wilkes who launched her debut EP. James has been on the music scene in New York for decades. As a composer/conductor James has produced music for major network television shows including the Olympics, Major League Baseball Game of the Week, NBA Finals, and The Today Show, and various recording artists among many others. Wilkes has managed such acts as Barry Manilow, Emmy Lou Harris and Jerry Jeff Walker, and was president of A&R with Vanguard Records, whose roster included Joan Baez, Buffy St. Marie and Kinky Friedman.

Jennifer studies with New York City vocal coach Jackie Presti, who was named Backstage Magazine's 2010 Back Stage Reader's Choice Awards for favorite vocal/singing coach in New York.

Jennifer's new EP was recorded at Stadium Red in East Harlem and features world-class, award winning musicians. Her new take on Jimmy Webb’s song All I Know which was written for Art Garkunkel, features the Art Garfunkel’s original touring guitarist and his current touring guitarist. It was mixed by Grammy Award winning engineer Tom Lazarus.
