Album Notes
With the soothing sound of piano accompanied by a strong voice and an electronica edge, Jennings creates a sound drawn from musicians like Imogen Heap, Annie Lennox, Tori Amos and Moby.

Although her writing began in high school, Jennings’ surge in musical expression started after the sudden death of her mother. “This tragedy rocked me to the core, but there is so much beauty in what it allowed me to do,” she says. “All of my emotions came pouring out in the form of melody.” At the time, her father, a former musician, gave her the option to go through therapy or record an album. He knew both would be equally helpful to her, but by recording her music, she would be able to have something to hold on to and share with others for a lifetime. With “Femtastic” now complete, Jennings has built on the lessons of her life and musical journey and courageously perfected the delicate balance between vulnerability, honesty and grit.

“I believe that the difference between an artist and the average person is a fearless and relentless willingness to expose their quarks, oddities, secrets, and passions for all of the world to see and hear.” Jennings is certainly no exception to the rule. Her voice and words are her ways of expressing happiness, mourning, anxiety, anger, and excitement, allowing her listeners to laugh, cry, and live every one of her emotions. Although she is small in stature, Jennings’ music reflects an enormous strength and drive that is uniquely hers.

Love Them!
I came across Jenning music a couple of months ago and was immediately drawn into it's unique sound. Her style is very much an electronica influenced pop that's a bit in the vein of Imogen Heap but with bit more of an organic flair.

Her latest EP Storybook exemplifies this style perfectly. Each track shines with poppy melodic melodies that stay with you. Jennings' amazing cover of "Umbrella is prime example of this. It's just the kind of album that even if you only listen to once (though I highly recommend that you listen to more than just once), you'll find its songs running through your head all day long.

Perhaps it's due to my deep rooted love for the film Garden State, but I'm just waiting for an indie filmmaker to discover this EP. I could easily hear Jenning's music being used in a film like Juno or Nick & Nora's Infinite Playlist.

Storybook is poignant, passionate, and smooth. That's why it's this week's Moth Pick Of The Week. (Will post on June 28th)

Love Them!
Take the music of The Corrs that made them pop legends and parts of the voice that made Swing Out Sister so endearing. Put them together and you hve Jennings - the girl has got it all. Needless to say, I adore her music.

Even more "Femtastic"
Jennings has done it again. Just when I thought it couldn't get better, it did. Living a musical life myself, I'm led to love all styles of music, yet I'm picky about the musical quality. Nothing is lost in this "Storybook". It's definitely quality to the core. The musicianship is undeniable...from the fine touches of a simple rhythmic shift that keeps you on your toes (like the ending section of 'Doorway'), to the unique personal touches of the familiar 'Umbrella', it's all Jennings, and you won't hear it anywhere else. As a songwriter myself, I want the passion...the emotion...the sorrow to the gladness...all of the things you read about in the CDBaby notes above. She gives you that, too; The total package...and I'm an even bigger fan than I already was. Congratulations, Jennings, you've raised the bar once more.
