Album Notes
This nocturne op. 50 by Julius André was composed in the virtuoso style of the day. (Peter Friedrich) Julius André (1808-1880) was pianist, organist, composer, as well as author of pedagocial essays and a didactic organ method book. He was the grandson of Johann André, who founded a music publishing house in Offenbach, Germany in 1774, which still exists until today.
The nocturne has the subtitle "La Bienfaisance" ("compassion")

Das Nocturne op. 50 von Julius André ist in dem virtuosen Stil der Zeit komponiert. (Peter Friedrich) Julius André (1808-1880) war Pianist, Organist, Komponist und Autor einer Orgelmethode. Er war der Enkel von Johann André, Gründer des Musikverlags André, der bis heute in Offenbach/Main existiert.
Das Nocturne hat den Beinamen "La Bienfaisance" (Die Wohltätigkeit)
