Album Notes
The Jeremy Franklin Goodman Project: An Evening of Live Latin Jazz is an exciting album of original music recorded live in Florida. The performers in this Latin jazz big band are fifteen extraordinary professional musicians from the west coast of Florida. Several kinds of Latin genres are represented on this disc ranging from mellow Brazilian bossa novas and energetic sambas to sizzling Afro-Cuban styles including mambos, cha-cha-chas, and salsa tunes. Whether the song is smooth and peaceful or smoking hot and spicy, the fun tunes, exciting rhythms, and grooves will make you stand up and dance. It will transport you from a dance club playing Afro-Cuban music to the beaches of Rio de Janeiro. In addition to the original songs on this recording, there are two original Latin arrangements of classical repertoire. Debussy's solo piano piece "Golliwogg's Cakewalk" and Gershwin's orchestral work "Rhapsody in Blue" are presented in a new light which will excite the listener when the themes and harmonies are heard in a contemporary Latin fashion. This live recording contains 80 minutes of exhilarating music that will delight any listener and animate any room.
