ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
"Sometimes joyous, sometimes intense... always groovin' " - Dennis Rollins
" Quite mesmerising...." soulandjazzandfunk

Without Understanding are delighted to present Jeremy Platt's latest project: Jeremy Platt Jazz Soul Moment. Influenced by the likes of Les McCann & Ramsey Lewis, Sometimes Saying Your Name offers a new take on the traditional piano trio formula, adding Microkorg synth lines and Platt's vocals. His recent work with Ninja Tune's Illum Sphere has brought him to the attention to a new generation of listeners, while still keeping his feet firmly planted in the jazz world, having played with artists such as Jim Mullen & Harry Beckett. He has received support from the likes of Craig Charles, Canada's WEFUNK radio & Chicago Steppers legend Grady Fitts.
Sometimes Saying Your Name, is an all-analogue recording which features Frank Felix (Lonnie Liston Smith, Acoustic Alchemy, Nelly Furtado) on bass and John Boulton (Xero Slingsby & The Works, Utah Saints) on the drums.
