Album Notes
Hit Songs From Developmental Music Classes:
Music + Education = Rock-ucation

“We can build a better world, better than a roller coaster ride.”

Follow up album to award-winning Use Your Words; New EP features a sample
from Rock-ucation Classes, secretly teaching kids language and social skills through

New York – One of the tasks of parents and teachers alike is to teach young children
to ‘use their words’, to work together, to respect one another’s differences, and
how to feel good about themselves. But this task is not an easy one. Kids often
struggle with these concepts, and can have difficulty finding the words to express
themselves when upset. It can be particularly hard to use language to identify
how they feel, and come up with those words in the moment. By taking these
lessons and creatively putting them to catchy music, the repetition of singing
along translates into natural and organic learning.

“Rock-ucation” a six song EP, is a unique collaboration between early childhood
specialist, Lizzie Bicknell and preschool music specialist, Jeremy Zmuda (aka-
Jeremy Plays Guitar). The highly anticipated EP features original songs for kids from six months
to six years. Rock-ucation follows Jeremy Plays Guitar’s “Use Your Words,” winner of Parent’s Choice, Nappa
Honors and Kids Music awards as well high marks from parents, teachers and critics alike. PEOPLE MAGAZINE – Best Kids Gifts – “A catchy album that promotes language arts? Sign us up!” DAILY CANDY- Best Kid’s Music
of 2010- “If you like radio friendly rock, you’ll like Jeremy Plays Guitar’s “Use Your Words” .NICKELODEON PARENTS CONNECT – “This awesome educational “language-based music” will not only teach your kid to use his words,
it’ll get him to boogie down too!” A NATION OF MOMS – “If you are a parent, teacher or therapist, you NEED this CD in your toolbox…or, CD player. “

The music was so successful in giving kids language and skills to navigate common social situations that co-creators, Jeremy Zmuda and Lizzie Bicknell, created classes around the music - ‘Rock-ucation Classes’. Now
offered in multiple locations (and pre-schools)in New York City and Miami, the ‘developmental ‘ classes are quickly catching on for parents who want to include a more educational or skills-based component to the typical mommy-
and-me music classes. The new EP, Rock-ucation highlights some of the class favorites.

The EP, the classes, and the curriculums are all products that created by Rock-ucation, Inc, whose mission is to develop music-based educational products that can be used in a multitude of environments, closing the gap between special
needs and typically developing kids, and most importantly, make learning enjoyable and fun! Further illustrating this idea, the EP comes with a free, downloadable booklet, a colorful storybook highlighting the lyrics to the song “I
Like You’ and including an interactive worksheet for kids. The booklet reinforces the concept of how friends can like different things, and yet still like each other. It playfully models a back-and-forth social conversation, of friends discussing their differences.

The EP "Rock-ucation" is a a great addition to any kid's music collection, with positive messages for kids set to musical styles from punk rock to folk. Jeremy Plays Guitar sophomore EP hits all the right notes!
