*Frankfort’s Best Musical Performer, 2011
*Masters Apprenticeship with Carla Gover from the Kentucky Arts Council, 2011
*Cowan Creek Mountain Music School Staff, 2011 – present

Performing since the age of twelve and releasing her first CD at the age of fourteen, this twenty-year-old singer-songwriter-guitarist has experience behind her that leads to an energetic, passionate and intimate performance of unique folk and bluegrass original and cover songs. Her mixture of traditional Appalachian tunes, bluegrass foot-stompers, bluesy heart strummers, and folksy originals provides a show for any age at venues ranging from coffee shops and house concerts to music festivals and social events. Performances can be solo with vocals and acoustic guitar; duets with banjo or fiddle/mandolin, harmonies and lead vocals and guitar; string bands with harmonies, fiddle/mandolin, upright bass, and lead vocals and guitar.

After studying under acclaimed Appalachian singer-songwriter-dancer Carla Gover with a Masters Apprenticeship grant through the Kentucky Arts Council from 2011-2012 and attending and becoming staff at Cowan Creek Mountain Music School, Jeri Katherine continues to lead workshops in songwriting, beginning guitar (rhythm and flatpicking) and flatfooting/clogging. She is passionate about spreading music’s power through education, so feel free to contact her for after school programs, summer camps or lectures. Recent examples: Teen Songwriting Workshop & Clogging-From-Scratch, Cowan Creek Mountain Music School 2012 & 2013; Community Arts Day concert & songwriting/traditional music discussion, Murray State University Governor’s Scholars Program 2013.
