Offleash

by Jerome Lawrence Michael Beckley

An eclectic combination of tunes. One pop-jazz tune. A song that might remind you of the Allman Brother's early work. A strange almost children's song style. A gospel song about the afterlife. A soothing instrumental that bookends. A cover song.
Genre: Jazz: Soul-Jazz

ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
I am a watercolorist who spent his youth playing progressive rock, starting at the age of 12 on stage. Fortunately, I have friends who own recording studios and have professional skill. My songs come from the early 80s and recently. I've been writing songs since I was 14. Sometimes I can come up with something decent. Anyway, that's your part in all this. You decide. I'm a trained singer. I sang in paid choirs as a youth. Still, my heart was with my rock band, the downchilds. As I aged and the band broke up, I began to perform as a soloist and writing songs not in the rock style. I played Paul Simon, Jackson Browne, and included some jazz standards in my repertoire. Eventually I sprinkled in some of my tunes in diverse styles. Well, I'm not going to try and sell you on this project. I hope you do enjoy a listen or two, if you wish. I called the project "Offleash" to signify the freedom dogs have in the offleash parks. I enjoy my side job of taking care of dogs for clients who need assistance with their pets. Dogs run free, why can't we?
