Album Notes
Jerry Logan has played bass since the late 1900s. I that time he has toured most of the states, Europe and Finland with bands such as Laurie Lewis & Grant Street, High Country, Peter Rowan, Bob Paisley & Southern Grass, The Schankman Twins, Barry & Holly Tashian, Ron Spears & Within Tradition, and played the CBA's Father's Day Fest with the CA bluegrass band Tenbrooks and also with the late James King. He brings with him a background in many genres including, rockabilly, western swing, blues, country and "hot" swing. A fine songwriter, Jerry is very proud of this cd of his own bluegrass songs, "The Angel's Wings". The songs within show his breadth as a songwriter. You'll find humor, in " I Won't Tell You", a twist in the "murder" ballad, "The Ballad of Shorty & Rosie Dee" and stories of lost loves in others. The song " Angel's Wings" tells the story of a wreck on the highway & how Jerry heard his guardian angel speak to him. Jerry is proud to be joined by bay area musicians, Robbie Macdonald, Larry Chung, Luke Abbott, and Santa Cruz's rising star, Carolyn Sills. Also showing up are Charlie Wallace, and from Nashville, Ron Spears.
