THE LATEST STILES tells the story of Miss Stiles' move to Nashville, Tennessee to pursue singing and songcraft, from Portland, Oregon, where she led a honky tonk band for several years. It presents an array of Bluegrass (her newer material), Honky Tonk & Country songs recorded mostly live to 2" tape in Portland, Oregon, directly before leaving town - with some of her favorite players there - and a few new songs recorded in Nashville, Tennessee - more Bluegrass in flavor and instrumentation.

Miss Stiles was blessed to record the first two tracks on the album, 'Sissy Beth And Captain Tom' and 'Tennessee Line' (both original compositions) at Randy Kohrs' Slack Key Studio in Nashville, with some of the leading players in Bluegrass. Tim Crouch lent his talents on fiddle to both cuts. IBMA Guitar Player of the year, Josh Williams played guitar and mandolin on “Tennessee Line,” with Randy Kohrs on harmony vocals and Resophonic guitar. 'Sissy Beth And Captain Tom' also features John Hedgecoth (of Nashville Mandolin Ensemble) on banjo; Chris Henry (plays with Shawn Camp) on mandolin and guitar; and Mark Miller (plays with Chuck Mead) on upright bass.

The "Portland Sessions" feature the legendary Chris Miller (of Dave Alvin's Guilty Men) on guitar; Lex Browning (of the Trail Band and Freak Mountain Ramblers) on fiddle; and Harley James on pedal steel guitar. With Sean Oldham (of Richmond Fontaine) on drums. Portland, OR sessions were recorded at KBC studios by Shay Scott to 2" analog tape.

Album mixed by George Bradfute at Tone Chaparral, Madison, TN, except 'If I Could Only Start Over' - mixed by Billy Oskay at Big Red Studio, Corbett, OR. Album mastered by Kurt Storey at Burns Station Sound, Burns, TN.
