As a vintage-loving chanteuse with a penchant for research, I delight in mining the forgotten musical gems. Most of these tunes are lost treasures from the 1930's to the 1950's. While half are Christmas songs, they're all about winter. This time of year, while openly expressing joys and good wishes, we may also privately reflect on disappointments and regrets. The greatest songwriters capture the range of human emotions and present them to us in a gorgeous melody, or a tender lyric. These songs match the moods of the season, from merriment to melancholy. I'm pleased to share these masterfully written, musical jewels with you, which we've dressed in beautiful new arrangements, embracing a modern retro vibe. I hope they'll bring a fresh touch, warm your heart and maybe even put a little spring in your step, this winter season.

Wishing you the brightest holidays!

--Jeudi

A Sultry & Romantic Holiday Songbook
This was swingy and sultry as the holidays are filled with nostalgia, romance, melancholy and cheer. The songs are all very fun and old fashioned with the music of days gone by, lovely piano and violin and the classic voice of Jeudi. Fun to play for parties, wrapping presents and for stocking stuffer gifts! I love the song "There was Frost on the Moon" especially as it has the old scratchy sounds of the turntable and album on the track under all the sentimentality and retro sounds. Great alternative to the usual sounds of Christmas!

Winter was Warm...and Chic!
"Winter Was Warm" is what Grey Goose is to Martinis; any vodka will make one, but using a top shelf liquor guarantees the finesse and separates swill from swell. It can be that way for Christmas records too, and "Winter Was Warm" not only sets a new twist on a classic concept, it redefines it.
"Winter Was Warm" is like a technicolor breath of fresh vintage air, in a world where far too many new Christmas recordings seem as exciting as a black and white television. It's more then just capable musicians and singer, there is a palpability that makes this recording magic. Call it sincerity. It's there. Jeudi has joy when she sings these songs, one could swear she is smiling as she sings, with a style reminiscent of Vera Lynn and the playfulness of Beatrice Kay. "Winter Was Warm" is that kind of special. Unique; Cabaret meets Steampunk with brushes of Bluegrass. It's all there.
"Winter Was Warm" is hand-tinted photographs of cherished memories from a romantic past only your grandmother can recall with sweet affection. And still it's more then that. It's hip. Sexy. Coquettish. Think of twinkling string lights in Paris. Think of being a little kid again and seeing your mom and dad steal a kiss under the mistletoe. "Winter Was Warm" is "Breakfast at Tiffany's". It has that kind of romance, like a Fellini film. Think Greer Garson. "Winter Was Warm" is a way back to "The Days of Wine & Roses" that Johnny Mercer about.
The musicians are like Robin Hood's Merry Men, always supporting and playfully following Jeudi through these songs, and if you think a piano, guitars and violin can't smile, think again. You can just feel the magic and joy in their work, it's pure pastel party lights and mistletoe..
Clever, Chic, and more than suitable for your party, your home, and for family of all ages. Great for grandparents, hip adults and even holiday hipsters.

An Era Reborn!
If you like forgotten gems of a bygone era, you’ll love Winter is Warm. Culled mostly from the 1930s to 1950s, this is a collection that runs the gamut from mirthful to melancholy. Like the great Johnny Mercer tune SANTA CLAUS CAME IN THE SPRING, there are other unjustly forgotten Christmas songs on the disc. But with the inclusion of IT’S WINTER AGAIN, BY THE FIRESIDE, the title song and many others, this is a song cycle that embraces the entire winter season. Jeudi’s voice is in fine form in bringing these sadly neglected tunes to life.
