Album Notes
Stepping out from his quiet corner in the SF bay area music scene, Jeff Hanson offers up his first solo CD, "Here At Home" on his new vanity label, JeffyPop Records. Written and produced entirely by Jeff, this disc features ten songs of pop paradise all done in his Beacon Street Studios in Oakland, CA.
"When my last group (the late, great Woolies) decided it was time to make a record, we felt we could do it ourselves if we only had the gear", says Jeff. "I wound up getting into the deep end of the home recording pool, and have been happily splashing around there ever since."
A collection of recent songs as well as some older tunes that "never really had their moment", "Here At Home" grabs your ear at the opening notes of "Talk To Me" and holds it firmly between thumb and forefinger right through the big finish of "Good Thing Gone Bad." Along the way you're treated to the uplifting "I'm In Love With Mary", the self-absorbed yet bouncy "One", and the woeful lament of "Stay". Luscious vocal harmonies and crafty guitars help conspire to bring you what Jeff has come to call, "that sweet JeffyPop sound."
