Album Notes
Scottish singer/songwriter Jill Jackson made her name back in 2004 as front woman of UK band Speedway. The band’s cover of Christina Aguilera’s ‘Genie In A Bottle’ scored Jill and Speedway their 1st UK Top Ten hit. The band went on to enjoy further success throughout 2004 and 2005 including a 2nd Top Ten hit. Speedway toured extensively and played alongside many musical greats including Blondie and Bryan Adams.
Jill spent most of 2008 playing guitar for Natalie Imbruglia during her greatest hits promotional tour. At the end of 2008 Jill embarked on a challenging “50 States In 50 Days” tour across America with fellow singer/songwriter Kevin Montgomery. It was on this tour that Jackson bought her first ukulele, which inspired her to record the Painted Faces EP in 2009.

The Paisley-born singer/songwriter released her debut solo album ‘Back to Zero’ in 2011. Since then she has played at various festivals, sold out numerous UK dates and attracted attention from influential devotees in both the music and television industry.
In October 2011, after returning from another tour of the USA, Jill recorded the limited edition album The Ones That Got Away. This was a collection of her favourite songs, some old, some new and some different versions of fan favourites.

In May 2012 Jackson released ‘Getaway Driver’ - an album of an autobiographical nature with small life stories that add up to one big story - with the exception of title track ‘Getaway Driver’ which tells the story of a bank robbery! The album reached number 5 in the iTunes singer/songwriter chart.

“Jill has produced an almost perfect selection of edgy, up-beat songs blended with other exquisite slower numbers, that encompass a wide range of nuances and incorporate echoes of many of her influences, yet it most definitely stands on it’s own merit”
