Album Notes
Singer/songwriter Jill Jambor is making her way onto Ontario’s folk music scene, leaving impressions of her “sweet, whispery, new-folk voice” on the ears and in the minds of the listening. Having already opened for acts like Suzie Vinnick and Big Rude Jake, and shared stages with the likes of Dala and The Good Lovelies last year at Barriefolk, Jill has added many things to her credit since. Named one of the winners of this year’s Summerfolk Discoveries competition, Jill made her first appearance at the Summerfolk Festival in Owen Sound this August.
Jill Jambor has recently released a new single, Ten Minute Love Letter, and will be following up with the release of her latest EP, The Bad One, in October 2010. With only a few years of experience, Jill is already being recognized for her “stellar songwriting.” Her “neat” and “fresh” songs combine aspects of traditional folk songs with a range of other contemporary genres and written forms, making them a wonderful blend of folk and other with lyrics that pursue the elusive side of common things.
