ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Jill is a Los Angeles native and a former Miss Anaheim. Her first professional work began onstage for the Walt Disney Company, portraying such characters as Princess Jasmine, Ariel, and Pocahontas. While traveling the globe, she was the principal vocalist for Norwegian Cruise Lines, and notably opened their production of Andrew Lloyd-Webber’s MUSIC OF THE NIGHT.

Jill wears many hats in this business, both in the spotlight and behind the scenes. Her voice can be heard singing the well-known “Priceline Negotiator” jingle in their national commercials starring William Shatner. She took on the role of Executive Producer plus co-starred in the short film “Huckleberry Dreams,” starring MAD MEN‘s Robert Morse. Her theater credits include INSIDE OUT which she won a StageSceneLA Scenie and Robby Award for her performance, Stephen Schwartz’s SNAPSHOTS, LOVELACE A ROCK MUSICAL which won an L.A. Weekly award for Best Ensemble, A NEW BRAIN (Musical Theatre Guild), THE THIRD FROM THE LEFT at the NYC and Edinburgh Fringe Festivals, SONGS FOR A NEW WORLD which she was nominated for a L.A. Ovation Award, and JACQUES BREL: A LIFE IN SONG, which she won a Ticket Holder Award for Best Cabaret Performance. Jill has had the privilege of singing with and for such stars as Tony Award winning Jason Robert Brown, Richard Carpenter, and her “uncle” Johnny Mathis.

She performs in a variety of projects: she is an executive committee member plus actor for MUSICAL THEATRE GUILD in Los Angeles, she stars in the cabaret revue HOLLYWOOD REVISITED, is a member of the a cappella band VYBRATION, she is the female vocalist for the master percussionist C.G. RYCHE, and frequently belts out our National Anthem for the Anaheim Angels and Ducks. And she enjoys teaching private voice lessons at Vibe Performing Arts Studio in Santa Clarita. She is a proud member of AEA, AGVA, and SAG-AFTRA.

Her newest adventure is paying tribute to the rock goddess Pat Benatar in the band LIVE FROM EARTH.

"Darkness" was written by Ramon Sanchez, who plays lead guitar and rhythm guitar. Special thanks to Louis Pandula for his sound engineering.

"Darkness"

Looking in the eyes of countless faces,
All my search revealed was empty spaces.
I looked for love and gave up trying,
And ev’ry night I thought my heart was dying.

From the loneliness inside
I could run but never hide,
And my only friend was Darkness.
When the night became too long
And a stranger sang his song,
I surrendered to the Darkness.

Not a word he said, yet I could hear him.
Something in his gaze had drawn me near him.
And when he spoke I felt like sighing.
It wasn’t long before my soul was flying.

From the loneliness inside
I could run but never hide,
And my only friend was Darkness.
When the night became too long
And a stranger sang his song,
I surrendered to the Darkness.

In just a few moments, my life drained away.
My memories flashed by in pain.
And what I became I just couldn’t say,
But ecstasy poured down like rain.
I didn’t know the price I’d pay
For letting Darkness take me.

Ev’rything I was has been forsaken.
How can I return what I have taken?
The Darkness left me to my sorrow.
And I don’t want to face one more tomorrow.

From the loneliness inside
I could run but never hide,
And my only friend was Darkness.
When the night became too long
And a stranger sang his song,
I surrendered to the Darkness.

How can I hope to come into the light?
