Album Notes
A year has passed since Berlin based musician jilski started playing his music in the busy but thankful streets and places of Berlin. For his debut album "things come different", he took the same hand-made, soulful mentality to the studio in order to bring the songs to life through real recorded instruments, drums, piano, guitar, violin and of course the signature double-bass plus voice. Influences span from Pop, Jazz, Funk, Blues to a healthy dose of Dub, Reggae, Rock and experimental Classical music.

The album is being told in one epic, hour-long journey, featuring improvised interludes that guide you, the listener, from one song to the next in an emotional and gripping stream of sound. The themes of the songs revolve around forbidden love, broken hearts, the way that live teaches us it's secret ways with hidden signs, the ups and downs of a man who tries to live life to the fullest, all composed very honestly, down to earth.

Similar to this natural tendency in songwriting, the artist put great effort into a true, natural recording process which involved no computers until the very last stages of digitalization. Everything has been recorded to 8-track reel-to-reel tape, mixed and mastered through fine, in part custom-made or modified analog equipment, with no corrections of any sort made to the music itself. jilski: "It has always been really important to me that inmidst all this technological, fast-paced world, as an artist I don't participate in any sort of illusional competition - I want people to hear me just as I sound, no corrections of my voice or rhythm of any kind, as if you could listen directly to the emotions: I want to go back to a natural sound that touches the soul rather than the brain."

This is an honest journey recorded in an honest way and we would like to invite you to join us and take a listen.
