ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
In 1968 Jim Chapman signed with Columbia Records and went on to perform with a variety of popular bands including Rockabilly legend Ronnie Hawkins. In the mid-1970's, influenced by performers like The Eagles, Crosby, Stills and Nash, Jackson Browne, Merle Haggard, America and Mason Proffit, Jim wrote and recorded an album of ballads featuring the themes of love lost and found. Before it could be released the original masters of the songs disappeared in a studio closing and were thought to be lost forever. Their ultimate rediscovery and survival is a story worth the telling. In 2009 some badly-deteriorated sample mixes were found in an old trunk. They were, however, deemed too damaged to recover. But in 2012, In a process that took several weeks, the latest computer audio restoration technology was used to restore and remaster the songs. Ace producer/engineer Timothy Schwindt brought them back from fragments of tape and damaged reels and gave them vibrant life again. This CD is the result. The lost songs have been found and even 35 years later still speak of universal human emotions as contemporary as today.
