Album Notes
Play should be put in its proper place.

That's why, over the years, I have done my best to put play in school classrooms, libraries, symphony halls, child care programs, family rooms and cars.

Simply stated, play belongs wherever children are. Play is how young children develop abilities, express abilities and learn lessons that are broader than any lessons that adults might dream up to teach them.

This recording is filled with music play. There are musical games that I feature in my concerts with symphony orchestras. There are sing-alongs and clap-alongs that I include in concerts accompanied by my banjo. There are many, many pieces that combine word play with opportunities for physical movement and active play.

Thanks to all of the parents, teachers, librarians and caregivers who have shared my music play with children over the years. I am honored that folks have put my music play in their favorite places.
