Album Notes
A case of sour grapes and other stories is an assortment of songs written in the past and today. The old songs were dug out of old hidden away notebooks to be modernized. Some are songs that were not used on the 2014 release “On the psycho path of life” by crap detectors were also recorded with an assortment of new material as well. 2013-2014 was a time of tragedies, sadness, stress and growth. The songs should reflect some of this in a humorous, witty and sometimes satirical way. Those who know me and are not through transference, trying to think they are me, know that my songwriting consists of a thought/theme that expands through imagination into a story. But if the shoe fits---Oh well. The perpetrators of this work are Mark Nelson on keyboards/ Joe Malnack on Saxes and Jim Jacobi on guitars/vocals/bass/other keys/percussion and a various amount of other instruments. . Respectfully dedicated to Mojo Po/Sean Benjamin and Ann Jacobi

A case of sour grapes
"Listening to Jim Jacobi's latest (A Case of Sour Grapes) is like spinning the radio dial back when radio programmed something other than banal sameness: each song is widely different from the one preceding and the styles he accesses span musical genres. The rage at hypocrisy and various other human idiocies is a consistent theme, but the anger seems less heated than in previous albums, tempered by a witty lyric or riff that bring a smile. There is more pleasurable listening here than gnashing of teeth."
