Album Notes
This is garage music and has been since 1977. The Crap Detectors have consisted of many band sizes over the years and always had one consistent theme which was the song writing, vocals and musicianship of Jim Jacobi. Jim does all instruments except for Joe Malnack on Sax on this incarnation. Despite all odds against him Jacobi continues the D.I.Y. fight which excludes any record company whether indie or major from controlling the music or artistic goals. In an age where unique is cast aside by millions learning guitar riffs and other redundant crafts on You tube, it’s hard to spot an individual in the sea of sameness. One must look hard. The theme that is quite clear on this and previous 2 cds is the internet and social media. It seems a wealth of material to be used in a satirical fun way. After all the internet creates a new way to victimize people with the use of everyday sociopaths finding ways of degrading others from the safety of their rooms. The stories are fictional and do not depict any real events or persons. …All songs by Jim Jacobi

Thirty Second time is a charm
I just listened to THE CRAP DETECTORS-32nd TIME IS A CHARM—I had to check this guy’s website—THIS GUY’s been doing his own independent, cool music since the 70’s?! Now I’m going to have to buy some of his earlier stuff!
This CD is a bunch of different styles with some Eastern Indian influences on some songs, punk rock, instrumentals, you name it-he does it….and does it really well!
The lyrics are definitely original, some sharp, bitter, ANYTHING but PC—but MOSTLY fun with clever construction of songs with a dim view of society’s drones. Each song is as unique as the last song. I was very entertained and have become a big fan!! Well done, Mr. Crap Detector!
