Album Notes
One of the workingest guitarists in Central California, Jim Lewin has been rocking all around his region and throughout the U.S. for the last twenty odd years. Whether as a sideman, songwriter, session player, or bandleader, Jim puts a little magic in all the music he makes.
A melodic and versatile guitarist, Jim is a man of many Genres. In addition to his own group, Lewin plays regularly with country legend Lacy J. Dalton, historic mandolinist Frank Wakefield, bluegrassers Harmony Grits, and he has performed or recorded with such luminaries as Jack Cassady, Gillian Welch, and Vince Herman.

Equally at home on acoustic or electric guitar, Jim’s style combines rock, country, blues, and burning bluegrass flatpicking. His years of adventures in countless bands and musical situations shine through in his soulful playing and singing, and his seemingly infinite repertoire. When not picking, Jim enjoys concocting conspiracy theories and engaging in other such paranormal behavior.

Listen to his CD, “PICTURES”, released in 2005 including a dozen of Jim’s own quirky americana-psychedelic-eclectic numbers also featuring members of the Doobie Brothers and other favorite musicians from the Santa Cruz scene!

Great CD!
Very nice. Especially talented musician. I think it is just plain FUN!

There are some wonderful songs in this album that stay in your head and you will find yourself singing them. I just returned from sailing in the Caribbean and in some of the little dives on the beaches they were playing Secret of Happiness over and over. A really cheerful, good rythm, drinking and dancing song. and Pictures is beautiful and sentimental. LOVE IT
