Leviathan of Love

by Jimmy Baldwin

Baldwin has uniquely expressive voice, his colorful songwriting and his “bucket full of paintbrushes and an extra-wide palette” creates his own brand of Americana music. Jimmy's songs are inhabited by a merry band of misfits.

Album Notes
Jimmy is a top-charting Americana artist. His sound is rooted in the Outlaw Texas singer-songwriter tradition. Born in Western Kentucky and raised in El Paso, Texas, his music reflects the familiar spirit of roots music as it blends with the sounds that influenced him – from Cole Porter to Willie Nelson and from R.E.M. to the street mariachis from just across the Texas border. His songs, like those that influenced him, tell stories of real people with true grit and raw honesty.

Jimmy Baldwin, “The Vivador,” has played festivals, theaters, and clubs from coast to coast. He’s opened shows for legendary performers such as Robert Earl Keen, Michael Martin Murphy, and Butch Hancock. Jimmy’s played venues from the Sweetwater in Mill Valley, California to the Continental Club in Austin and from Nashville’s 12th & Porter to the Kessler Theater in Dallas. The Vivador’s fans return time and again for his uniquely expressive voice and what Mario Tarradell of the Dallas Morning News called his, “bucket full of paintbrushes and an extra-wide pallet,” brand of Americana music. His distinct brand of Americana is at once timeless and universal.

The field of music is not the only arena where Jimmy’s contributions have been acknowledged. For years Baldwin’s past creative work in advertising has led to numerous national and international awards for clients like Motel 6 and Corona Beer and even inspired a Jimmy Fallon Saturday Night Live skit.
