ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Jimmy Bear Pearson is a musical artist who has been performing and interacting with music on and off for several years. He has played several woodwind, brass, and stringed instruments throughout school and has had musical training. His music is influenced by a huge variety of contemporary and classical artists - from Mozart to Black Sabbath, from Crosby, Stills, Nash, Young, and Bach to Nirvana - and all points in between.

His first album, UrsaFirst (ursa means "bear"), marks his return to music after a long absence of living life, raising a family, and working through a technical career. The music Jimmy Bear makes is created during after-work hours and on weekends, with his wife and children as inspiration and cohorts. All non-percussion parts in UrsaFirst were created and performed by Jimmy Bear.

The music he makes is conceived, performed, and engineered by himself (one track at a time) in his living area using a variety of guitars and instruments - all of which is mixed down to tunes with his Macintosh computer. The music is clear and clean, and is created to have a live (human) quality, but with just a touch of color as though lots of different people are playing the parts. Listen carefully to the music - it will take you on a journey you will sincerely enjoy!

Stay tuned! There is a lot more music coming!! Enjoy!!

A Raleigh Boy

Excellent indie first effort!
This CD hits music all over the map, with rock, blues, trance, and others.

There's a little something for most listeners in this CD. Although this is the first effort (home produced), it has an unusually good level of polish.

Versatile, eclectic, fun...
This artist's first effort is astonishing in its creativity and diversity. There's no way to categorize the CD, since each track has a unique style. One minute you're listening to blues, the next it's groove. Jimmy Bear plays all the instruments and does an excellent job. The sound is excellent, especially considering it is recorded in a home studio and mixed down with a Mac. Give it a listen - you'll find yourself wondering how all of this could come from the same person!
