ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Jimmy has gigged with and recorded with many stellar musicians during his long career. However, two names always come to the fore when he is asked about his most memorable. Bobby Gray, protege and student of world-renowned bebop-jazz accordion artist Leon Sash, and Bruce Wunlock, first-call Chicago jazz bass artist.
In Jimmy's opinion, working with these two guys was like a four year college education. They lived and performed by their code: "Play every note like you mean it, 'cause somebody's always listening." and "If you can't play, get off the stage." They could jump from bebop to Kufsteiner Lied without missing a beat.
During breaks, when Jimmy was out schmoozing with the crowd to round up requests, it was not unusual to see Bobby and Bruce off somewhere with their instruments polishing and perfecting chord changes. Their goal was perfection always.
This popular group performed often during its brief tenure, but the perfection and artistry remains preserved on these recordings for all to enjoy. Listen for yourself - Jimmy's Bavarians "Swingin' Chicago Style." This is actually Jimmy's second of three Grammy Nominations.
