Album Notes
Jim O'Hanlon`s music hits all the right notes. With upbeat harmonica, piano and guitar, that brings the history of Jesus to the present. Jim's music is recorded with fun, joy and love, something that clearly comes through on the recordings. The album was created in a West Philadelphia studio co-located with a church. That church clearly helped inspire the music and the musicians. The sessions that created the album even included spontaneous warm-ups right on Walnut Street in Philadelphia. Tracks recorded after those sessions carried that live vibe right into first-take recordings. Influences of Philadelphia's legendary music and musicians helped shape the music and more importantly the musician. Most sessions ended with home-made fried chicken sold right out on Walnut. Get on Board with the Lord contains the best bits of Country, Black Gospel, Blues and Rock. As fellow musician and church singer Thaddeus, once told Jim; "We may not be rich in money, but we're rich in spirit, and that's where it counts."
