Blues With Glowing Embers
This may be the finest album I've ever purchased from CD Baby. I usually shy away from albums that cover a broad range of material and styles, 'cause frankly, few artists can pull it off. This is the exception that proves the rule. Jeff's vocals are sublime, his guitar is smokin' hot - as are the vocal contributions of Lisa McClowry - which brings leads to the real reason why this album succeeds: Jeff surrounds himself with world-class talent, brings out their best, and allows them to bring out the best in him. How would I classify Jeff? I can't; he's somewhere between Joe Bonamassa, Ottmar Liebert, and Frank Zappa. If you can wrap your head around that, great; if not, I'm open to a better classification. Regardless, do yourself a favor and BUY THIS CD!
