Album Notes
“Music is a moral law. It gives soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination, and charm and gaiety to life and to everything.” Plato

The sound of the harp is the most beautiful sound on earth. With modern explorations of the scientific aspects of sound, harpists are now validated in doing what they have done for millennia - play for the pure enjoyment of the listener. Harp music can excite, soothe and relax. It can be used, in the old Gaelic tradition, to encourage gaiety, sleep, or acknowledge sorrow.

On this album are harp solos as well as ensembles. The various combinations of harps, recorders, flutes and guitars are cheerful and bright, yet soothing. Many of the solo pieces are improvisations typical of what would be played for patients at the bedside. The tracks, played in the given order, will encourage a state of calm and restfulness. The music slows down incrementally towards the end of the album, synchronizing the respiration and heart rates with the beat to invite deep relaxation, even sleep.

Whether you are looking for cheerful music to lighten your mood or are wanting to wind down after a hectic day, this album is for you. It is my sincere wish that these arrangements bring to all who listen a sense of peace and joy.

"Music speaks what cannot be expressed, soothes the mind and gives it rest, heals the heart and makes it whole, flows from heaven to the soul." Anonymous

Perfect music for relaxation and meditation
This gentle set of melodies starts sprightly and smoothly transitions from piece to piece to end on a meditative note. I found some, such as Greensleeves, to be delightful harp arrangements of familiar favourites. Others were new to me, but all are soothing, relaxing, and played beautifully - perfect to listen to at the end of a stressful day!
