Bandleader Tormenta Jobarteh, the “White Griot”, was awarded 1st prize of “The best storyteller in Germany Award 2005” competition.

His 7-piece band presents unique and absolutely authentic world music utilizing traditional and modern instrumentation with beautiful multi-voice harmonies and exciting dance rhythms.
Their widely acclaimed sophomore release, Ali Heja (bibi africa/Indigo) was praised in such respected journals as WOM-Journal, Süddeutsche, Jazzthetik, Blue Rhythm, Folker, etc. Garnering 1000´s of new fans on their latest tour of Germany, they appeared at such well known venues including the Reggae Chiemsee Festival, Sunsplash Austria, the legendary Finkenbach Festival and the Tollwood Festival München, sharing the stage with international world music stars such as Miriam Makeba, Gentleman, Tiken Jah Fakoly and Manu Dibango, among many.

Their captivating mix of African, Caribbean, Pop and Jazz styles, always danceable and full of energy is a joyful, life affirming celebration!
