Album Notes
There are many things Joel would like to achieve in his life, but one of the most important to him is making an impact in this world through his music. "Whether it's making someone laugh when they don't feel they can, making someone cry when they have been holding it in, or making someone think when they hadn't done so in a while; I want to make a difference with my music."

Music has been in Joel's blood since the day he was born, on Christmas day. Joel would become the only son in a family with four daughters. His mother, a school teacher specializing in music, who has now become a pastor, and his father, a retired Command Sergeant Major in the US Army, instilled the importance of hard work, drive, and dedication into their son at a young age. By the age of four, Joel was already performing gospel music in church. By the age of ten, he was writing songs, and by fifteen, Joel was playing in local country bands around his hometown of Van Wert, Ohio. Immediately, his remarkable talent and captivating stage presence began gaining attention and he quickly found himself opening for acts such as Neal McCoy, Chris Ledoux, Diamond Rio, and Kenny Chesney.

With a solid background, supportive family, and a commitment to his music, Joel moved to Nashville in June of 1999, to further develop his abilities and to follow his dream. Since then, he has performed his unique musical style of "country soul" around town at events including "Fan Fair", and recently, the world famous "Wildhorse Saloon". And Joel has even found himself writing with artist Michael Peterson, and multiple award- winning songwriters, Pat Alger and Cris Moore.

The combination of his strong, grounded, family background, and his wide range of musical influences, give him a very relatable and genuine sound. This directly reflects him as a person. His musical influences include, The Blackwood Brothers, Elvis Presley, Joe Diffie, Garth Brooks, Billy Joel, Steve Wariner, Huey Lewis, ZZ-Top, and Harry Connick Jr., just to name a few.

This CD holds the essence of country music. A CD the whole family can listen to, with a variety of up-beat songs, heart-felt songs, a definite must-have CD in your collection.

These songs gotta make the national level!
Here are songs that run my emotions to the extents. One minute I want to go out and party, the next minute, I want to cuddle my kid and cry. Wiser Man is the best to the heart song. I'll Drink the Fifth is Barstool fun. The sound of this cd is punchy, it won't let you down.

Good Stuff
Joel, from one singer to another that's some good stuff you've got there. I can hear the Michael Peteresn influence in your music and that's good cause I've always liked him. Keep up the good work.

Atlast...refreshing, exciting, fun country music!
Atlast...refreshing, exciting, fun country music! Joel Fry's debut, self titled album is one of the better debut albums I have come across. It is full of fun honky tonks, toe-tappers, gorgeous ballads, and pure country soul. There is a little something for everyone. Joel really shows his broad range of influences in this, anything but boring, debut album. This album is a rare in today's market. You can put it in your CD player, hit play, and just enjoy. All 15 tracks have something to it, and keep me listening. I can't recommend this album enough. My only question is...where are the major "nashville lables"??...and when are they gonna wake up and notice this kid?----BUY IT! You wont regret it!

This CD is great!
This CD is great! This music is better than a lot of the music I hear on country radio. I sure hope that country radio "discovers" Joel real soon. They will if he keeps putting out music like this.

this is so country.
Joel you are so awesome. Man being from a small town like Van Wert it isn't easy to accomplish something this big. You will enspire many people from small towns to go with their dreams. I'm a sophmore at VanWert High School and I love this small town...The only thing I hate is that everybody knows your who you are. Your sister is a pretty good singer as well.Well gotta go, I hope all your dream of being coming the next big country music star is fullfilled.
