Album Notes
Award winning harmonica virtuoso, Joe Powers is known for bending and blending genres from jazz to classical, hip-hop to world music, and Argentine Tango. He won the classical division of the Belgian Crystal Harmonica Contest in 2008 and scored a top jazz prize at the World Harmonica Championship in Germany (2005). Since then he has performed around the world, from Paris to Seoul collaborating with top Tango maestros and appearing with groups as diverse as Pink Martini, British pop icon Jamie Cullum, French blues legend J.J. Milteau, Sony jazz guitarist Yosuke Onuma, and Electrotango sensation Otros Aires, to name a few.

Joe's newest CD, "Just Duet!" (2012) is a self-produced, eclectic musical journey from Tango, Brazilian Choro, traditional Chinese and Japanese music to Classical music, Jazz and more. The album features duets with harmonica and 12 different instruments: koto, hammond B3, cavaquinho, erhu, guitar, piano, pipe-organ, vibraphone, tuba, violin, bandoneon, and banjo.
