Album Notes
Take a little Sinatra, a pinch of Tower of Power, a hint of The Boston Pops Orchestra, top it off with a big helping of Marvin Winans, and you have the Joe Savala gospel music experience.

Scott Hall said, "Joe Savala is a man of many talents and abilities, which genuinely come together in this awesome song! His style is amazing and you will not be disappointed in this recording! Well done!"

David Shores stated, "I love music and jazz is one of my favorite...Joe Savala is a very creative and talented individual and songs such as this one, which he has written, show that ability. The coming complete album is going to be a joy to add to anyone's collection."

I have always loved jazz and soul music. Reinterpreting these songs was a blast.

Silver and Gold, written by Kirk Franklin, has always been one of my favorite songs. This is the only "live" song on the project and I am indebted to Henry Mercardo, Tyler Fraizer, Ryan Grinder, and an anonymous keyboard player - you know who you are!

Everybody Need to Know was a song that came to me as I was traveling the country on my way to preach a revival. The lyrics, music composition, and engineering was my first stab at creating a song from scratch. The background vocals of Naomi Miranda helped the song go from good to great!!!

Oh, Say But I'm Glad has been a song that I have enjoyed throughout the years. Having always enjoyed the Latin vibes, I started messing around with the song and rhythms in the studio, added Naomi again and ended up with a tune to be thankful with and groove at the same time.

The Prayer Medley was my most favorite to put together. During my times of personal prayer and study, I enjoy orchestral type music. Blending some of my favorite songs to sing during prayer time with strings, bells, and piano was a wonderful experience. While recording this in the studio, the presence of the Lord moved in and I began to weep...I hope it blesses all those who listen to it.

I See A Crimson Stream of Blood is a song that has a great history and was written by G.T. Haywood, a preacher, songwriter, author, and a mighty man of God. As I listened to the song, I began to experiment with various music styles and had some fun - my soul/funk influences kind of show through on this one.

Having my sister, Amiena, sing the background vocals on Silver and Gold and I See A Crimson Stream of Blood was a special treat!
