ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
I'm Joe Treewater. I come from back east, but I live out west. My latest release is a single called Alexandra Rhapsody.

Stylistically, the song is a suite of different genres (pop, folk, grunge, reggae), tied together by a theme: a cheeky unrequited love lament to music supervisor Alexandra Patsavas.

The genre-jumping was unintentional at first; when I started writing about Alexandra, four different songs came out. So in the spirit of Band on the Run, Good Vibrations, Suite: Judy Blue Eyes, and of course, Bohemian Rhapsody, the sections were joined together to form a cohesive piece. (I wouldn't put my little song in the same league as giants like McCartney, the Beach Boys, Crosby, Stills & Nash, or Queen, but I do deserve credit for borrowing from the best, no?)

One unexpected but welcome result of this blend of disparate styles: the song feels like the cycle of emotions in a one-sided love affair, or perhaps what one experiences during the stages of grief. (Are they really that different?)

Alexandra Rhapsody was recorded at home. I performed the musical sounds and voices, and my friend Justin did the mastering.
