ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
joey defrancesco is a consistent downbeat poll winner as the #1 ranked keyboard player in the world.. this keyboard wizard from philadelphia makes his singing debut on 4 of the 11 selections. this is his first independant album after leaving columbia and recording 1 album with the legendary danny gatten. in addition to singing, there are more than his share of blistering instrumentals as well as the other 2/3's of his trio: paul bollenback and byron lanham. in addition there are horn arfrangements by horace ott (aretha) featuring members of airmen of note (pete berrenbregge-sax, bruce gates/rick sigler-trumpet, dudly hinote-bass trombone, rick lillard/doug elliot-trombone).also legendary bassman (former ella fitzgerald) keeter bettes appears on several cuts. joey has toured and recorded with miles davis although he describes this work as more relaxed than his collaborations with miles or danny gatten

Classic Joey, always great, this one is smooth
Joey once again demonstrates his artestry on the Hammond B-3 organ. He is the undisputed Master. This CD is smooth and easy to listen to. Great for a romantic evening or a rainy day. Joey's vocals are spot on. His voice was made for this kind of music. If you like Harry Connick, Jr, you will love Joey. The other musicians on the CD are all first rate, top of the industry, world class musicians.
