Album Notes
John Cadley is the writer of "Time," the song that Lou Reid and Carolina took to the #1 spot on the bluegrass charts, with Vince Gill and Ricky Skaggs singing harmony.. His songs have been recorded by Tony Trishcka, Missy Raines, Jim Hurst, and Amy Gallatin. His 2007 Nashville-produced CD, "The Closer I Get," was voted among the top 5 CDs of all entries in the Just Plain Folks Award, against thousands of entries from all over the world. His song, "Train of Trouble," was selected for the songwriters' showcase at the 2013 International Bluegrass Music Association (IBMA) convention. His songs blend the lyrical sophistication of modern songwriters like Jackson Browne and Paul Simon with the driving rhythms and harmonies of bluegrass. His music is rooted deeply in that tradition. His two most recent CDs have been produced by Clay Hess, Grammy-awad winning guitarist with Ricky Skaggs, and feature such bluegrass luminaries as Randy Kohrs, Terry Baucom, and Darrin Vincent.
