Album Notes

You ever been scared? Maybe it's hard to look someone square in the eye and tell them how you feel or what your experience is or has been because you're afraid. Well, John Davey's not afraid. Not anymore.
Carrying on through some heartbreak and back-breaking, morale-crushing difficulty and coming out on the other side of it will make you fall in love with the challenge. It gives you strength and a sense of efficacy. If it takes trial and effort to overcome your problems, then simply existing is a necessary first step.

Living Is Trying is the second full-length collection of songs from John Davey. It's a culmination of years of traveling and busted relationships and is the last emotional stand before some sort of ego death and a significant realignment of values and core beliefs.

"... writes incredibly sincere folk-pop gems that will break your heart and have you singing (and sincerely thinking) about the heartbreak all day." - Dilated Time

A collection of songs that ask questions, make statements about space and time relative to close & often romantic relationships, and is self-critiquing /observational.
