Album Notes
The album title, "Legends that shaped South Africa" says it all.

Once again John Edmond goes beyond our imagination in researching and capturing the facts of "legends" that date as far back 1773 summing-up the lives of famous people like Winston Churchill, Nelson Mandella, Baden Powell, Mohatma Ghandi, David Livingston, Paul Kruger and U Shaka The Zulu King and Warrior and many others. To get the full life story of these legends in 4 to 5 minutes in songs with choruses that stick in your mind and you can't help but sing along. (don't miss out)

South Africa - The Rainbow Nation has been a magnet for seafarers, traders (slave and otherwise) missionaries, farmers, prospectors, hunters, mining magnates, politicians, activists, scoundrels, fugitives, colonists, soldiers and prohibitionists.
Its indigenous people have produced some of the above including warriors and great statesmen; All LEGENDS in their own right!.

This album is made up of Zulu, Xhosa, Scottish, English, German, Indian and Afrikaans characters.
Opinions on the attributes of these characters and their ideologies differ but the facts remain and cannot be erased or ignored. History books are often written and re-written to suit the powers of the day.
In the immortal words of Spanish-American philosopher George Santanya (1863-1952) “Those who don’t know history’s mistakes are doomed to repeat them”.

John has researched and written the songs on this album with an impartial view, like the albums released prior to "LEGENDS" on his very successful Albums on the Anglo Boer War, Boer and Brit Battlefield Heroes and others.
We trust "Legends" will have the same impact and that you will find it to be informative as well as entertaining.
This album is beautifully packaged and has a booklet inside that contains all the lyrics of the songs and a short synopsis of the characters.

"Legends -that shaped South Africa" is a must have for your collection!
Yours in music.
