Album Notes
SOARING is my first album. Although I have created and recorded many songs during the last 35 years or so, I have never released an album. It was always one of those things that I meant to do, so finally it is here!

My musical style on this album has some influences from artists like Jean-Luc Ponty, Pat Metheny, and Lyle Mays. It is instrumental mostly jazz-fusion, yet some songs are just pleasant melodies. Usually the music has a steady prevailing rhythmical element with subtle, crafty chord changes and smooth solos.

I have been encouraged and helped along the way by many people: most notably, my mother, who played the piano and sang at home and who led me to music at a very young age and who gave me the confidence and courage to be a musician; my brother Donald, who is also a musician with his own recording studio and who has nurtured many young musicians to develop their talents and who critiques my music and my mixes to help me improve; my song-writing cousin Mike who is always encouraging and who I have worked with on many musical projects over many years; my close and distant musical relatives (mostly of Irish descent); my musical friends with whom I’ve played music during my life (Tim, Carle, Eric, etc.); my piano teachers (Patricia Zadow, Mrs. Jack, and Geraldine Salter (who wouldn’t allow me to pay her!) who helped me learn even though I didn’t practice nearly enough; my high school music teachers (especially Rick Reilly who let me hear jazz for the first time); and of course my supportive and encouraging wife Colleen, who is a music teacher and who's feedback has helped me craft the songs on this album.

I hope you enjoy SOARING!
