ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
This CD features the ever popular Invitation of the Dance of Carl Maria von Weber (1786-1826) as well as his first two Piano Sonatas, Opp 24 and 39. The first Sonata is consistently exciting, with a fiery first movement and ending with the virtuoso fireworks of the celebrated moto perpetuo. The second Sonata is lush and romantic, with many fantasy like sections and is Weber's most popular piano sonata. John Khouri plays these works on his six-octave grand piano by Jacob Pfister made ca. 1820.
