Album Notes
On a rainy April evening not very long ago, John Malino and his band got together at Feinstein’s supper club on Park Avenue to do what they had done so many times before: mesmerize an audience with cool-jazzy riffs on the classics of American song.
Truth be told, this night was just a little different. This particular performance was captured for posterity. But there were no concessions to the sound engineer – no interruptions, no retakes. What you’ll hear is exactly what the guests at Feinstein’s heard in the warm glow of that intimate space on that single night. What you have here is a documentary of a moment in time.
Those who know the John Malino Band know that John and his musicians are extraordinarily versatile. They can tear down the walls with their takes on Hendrix and Chuck Berry.

But that’s not what this night was about. This was an evening made for a sophisticated audience that was in the mood for something exciting, lyrical and romantic. And I think you’ll agree that the John Malino Band delivered the goods. – Jay Winer
